About Us
We are the newly formed Butler Global Methodist Church. As a Global Church, we are a Christian church, in the Wesleyan Tradition.
Based in Butler, PA, we are a welcoming church, happily accepting everyone who seeks Jesus Christ in their lives, whether you are already a follower of Jesus Christ, or just exploring to see how God can work in your life. We are all created in the image of God, and we are loved by Him. (Gen. 1:26-27).
We would also like you to know, that as part of the Global Methodist denomination, we welcome everyone to the communion table.

Our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Laura A. Saffell
Pastor Laura began serving our church on June 1, 2025, and it has been quite a monumental month! In addition to closing on our new church property at 200 E North Street in Butler, she and her husband Jarrett closed on their new home on June 30 in the Windward Heights neighborhood north of the Clearview Mall. For the past month, she has enjoyed having her “office” on Main Street in the various coffee shops as she acclimates to this area.
She is excited about this new season of ministry for Butler Global Church and the impact that our congregation is having. Reaching lost people in the name of Jesus in Butler County and beyond is her passion as together we love our communities and see Jesus change our world. She is looking forward to having lots of conversations, coffee and tea, and meals as she gets to know our congregation and our communities.
In addition to being our pastor here in Butler, she currently serves as a member of the Board of Ministry and the Allegheny West Conference Council. At the most recent Allegheny West Annual Conference held in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University a couple of weeks ago, she was elected as a clergy delegate to the upcoming General Conference of the Global Methodist Church in Johannesburg, South Africa, taking place August 30-September 5, 2026.
